Spartak Moscow started the new season of the Russian Premier League very well; after four rounds they are tied for first place with city rival CSKA.

In the last round, Spartak easily defeated Ural away (2-0), but the three points also came with a price, because Victor Moses, one of the best players of the Moscow club, was seriously injured.

The Nigerian speedster was injured in the first half, was carried off the field on a stretcher, and left the Ural Stadium on crutches. The recordings showed that a longer break awaits Moses, because he injured his Achilles tendon.

Victor Moses was stretchered off after 33 mins of Spartak’s 0-2 league victory against Ural earlier today.

Spartak explained in a press release that the Nigerian will not be able to play until the spring.

"Moses, who was injured in Yekaterinburg, underwent medical examinations, which showed that he had damage to the Achilles tendon. The player will have to undergo an operation, after which he will have a six-month recovery. We wish him a speedy comeback," Spartak said in a statement.
