Ayew and the rest of the Hodgson crew burn Leeds after a sloppy start

Crystal Palace were trailing at Elland Road, before scoring five for a hugely important away win (5-1)

Statement win worth not only staying away from the danger zone but proving how amazing they actually could be. That's the summary of today's Crystal Palace brutal 5-1 Premier League away win at Leeds, as Roy Hodgson's side came from behind to thump wasteful hosts and push them further down the EPL lane.

Even though they were without their leading player Wilfried Zaha, the Eagles demonstrated an astonishing variety of attacking options and ideas, with four players putting their names on the scoresheet and Jordan Ayew bagging a brace.

And it looked anything but promising for the visitors in the start, as the Yorkshire team netted through their hero Patrick Bamford inside 25 minutes. Alas, the tables turned so dramatically soon enough, and the guests bounced back immaculately just in time.

Firstly, Guehi levelled the score in the first-half stoppage time, which obviously affected the home team, who conceded another one as the squads returned after the break. This time it was Ayew with his first of the day before Eberechi Eze wrapped up the tie just two minutes later.

The sense of catastrophe was spreading around the pitch for Gracia's slot, but it didn't seem to bother Crystal Palace too much. Hodgson's boys kept pushing for more, and Edouard's goal paid off for them with 20 long minutes still left on the clock.

The whites' defence were in shambles, and that's exactly how they conceded that fifth one, as Ayew was left totally unmarked in the middle of the box for 5-1.

However, one more name that deserves applause and a standing ovation for today's performance is Michael Olise. This 21-year-old midfielder, born in England to a Nigerian father and a French-Algerian mother, made an incredible three assists at Elland Road to put his name in the club's history.
