Rayo Vallecano suffered an embarrassing 7-0 home defeat
In the stadium less than ten kilometers away from their home, the players of Atletico Madrid decided to put up a show. Without mercy, with a burst from all weapons, Atletico won against Rayo Vallecano 7:0 and thus achieved the most convincing triumph outside their stadium in the club's history. The thunder, which is the home team's trademark, ‘scorched’ the home team out of the blue and left havoc behind the relentless and unstoppable team of Diego Simeone. Although Rayo Vallecano made a perfect start of the new season, with a 2-0 win over Almeria and Granada, Cholo Simeone’s men put them back to their place, but in ruthless way.
7 - Today's 7-0 win at Vallecas is Atlético de Madrid's biggest away win in @LaLigaEN history, and only the second time they have scored seven goals in a match in the competition in the 21st century (7-0 v Getafe in 2013).

And it was a needed win for the guests after their goalless draw with Betis last week. Antoine Griezmann, who routinely did his part at the far post after an assist from Rodrigo de Paul from the right side, started the scoring in the second minute. The advantage was already doubled in the 16th minute by Memphis Depay, who, however, was forced to leave the field in the 35th minute and gave way to Alvaro Morata. De Paul retained the role of conductor in the visitors' victory in the continuation of the first half, and in the 36th minute he again did most of the work with a phenomenal play into the area that his compatriot Nauel Molina converted into a goal for 3:0.
In the second half, Alvaro Morata and Angel Correa took the main roles, and the Spaniard made the most of the opportunity with two goals, while Correa, who also assisted Morata's second goal, was accurate among the goals of his teammates. The final 7:0 and the most convincing victory for the side in the history of Atletico was scored by Marcos Llorente.
