Assist for Maina in Germany as Tera and Magnus feature

Kenyan midfielder Linton Maina bagged an assist in Hannover 96’s 2-0 win over Karlsruher SC while his compatriots Magnus Breitenmoser and Alwyn Tera started for AC Oulu and Ararat Armenia respectively.

The 22-year-old was trusted with another start as Hannover 96 bounced back to winning ways following the heavy defeat to Paderborn last time out in the German 2nd Bundesliga.

After a bright start to the game, Main broke free in the left channel before floating in a pinpoint ball that found the head of Hendrik Weydandt who nodded the ball home.

Hannover however had to wait till the 94th minute of the game to assure themselves of three points through Maximilian Beier who went on a lung-bursting run from the halfway line to fire the ball home.

The win hands Hannover some breathing space in the relegation battle as they now hold a nine-point buffer between themselves and 16th placed SG Dynamo Dresden.

Magnus Breitenmoser

Kenyan midfielder Magnus Breitenmoser started for AC Oulu in the 3–0 thumping of Haka in the Finnish Premier League.

With the referee’s whistle still sounding in the stadium, Oulu opened the scoring through Otso Liimatta after Rafael Floro put the ball on a plate for him.

Oulu went into the halftime break with a commendable 2-0 lead when Dennis Salanovic netted a minute before the interval after converting a penalty.

Rafael Floro was having an impressive game as he again set up Miika Koskela a minute after the hour mark to ensure Oulu registered an emphatic 3-0 win.

Alwyn Tera

Kenyan international Alwyn Tera was on the starting lineup for Ararat-Armenia in the 1-1 draw against Pyunik Yerevan in the Armenian Premier League.

After a drab first half that saw no goals, Hugo Filipe Pinto Servulo Firmino opened the scoring for Pyunik four minutes after the hour mark.

Tera was rested in the 80th minute as Solomon Udo came on in his place with Ararat scoring the leveler two minutes later through Furdjel Narsingh as the game ended in a draw.
