However, so much has been said in such a short space...

Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has done little to quiet speculation surrounding his future after offering a brief but telling response about a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking to Telefoot, the 27-year-old was asked about the prospect of teaming up with Ousmane Dembele at club level, with his contract at Bayern set to expire at the end of the season.

Upamecano, whose situation has attracted growing attention across Europe, did not dismiss the idea.

"Why not? Yes," the France international replied, when questioned about the possibility of linking up with Dembele in Paris.

Upamecano and the PSG winger are childhood friends and long-time international teammates, a connection that has only fueled speculation. With Bayern Munich yet to secure an extension, the centre-back could leave the Bundesliga champions on a free transfer next July.

Several top clubs are monitoring the situation closely, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid reportedly interested. While negotiations over a new deal with Bayern Munich remain ongoing, Upamecano's openness to the idea of playing alongside Dembele ensures that links to the Ligue 1 champions are unlikely to fade anytime soon.

Where the French defender will be playing next season remains uncertain, but his comments have added another layer to an already intriguing transfer storyline.
