Arteta's boys win 2-0 at Newcastle, although we could have seen at least half a dozen goals on both sides

Arsenal manage to stay in the super-exciting Premier League title race thanks to Sunday's 2-0 away at St James' Park!

We saw at least ten amazing chances on both sides altogether, but a bit of luck and some of Aaron Ramsdale's mesmerizing goalkeeping kept the Gunners afloat.

Odegaard was on fire straight from the start, as the Norwegian hit it superbly from mid-range, placing it in the bottom left corner to break the deadlock within 14 minutes.

The Gunners kept on firing regardless of the opener, but impressive Newcastle keeper Pope denied Martinelli's, Odegaard's and Saka's subsequent efforts.

The Magpies finally responded adequately near the half-hour mark, with Willock failing to put it past Ramsdale from a clear-cut chance.

After that drama, the tie succumbed to a rather dull period before once again Odegaard found himself in a fantastic opportunity to double the lead. Still, absolutely remarkable Pope stopped his close-range effort in the dying seconds of the first half.

The second one opened up with two sensational opportunities for the hosts. Firstly, Isak's header ended on a left post while unmarked Schar saw his one being marvellously stopped by Ramsdale. Martinelli's response, on the other side, was charmingly pleasant, but the crossbar prevented him from scoring.

That luck, however, turned its back on the hosts later, as Martinelli's cross deflected from unlucky Schar into the net for a definite visitors' victory.
