Centre-back Lewis Carrol is on the wishlists of both Premier League giants, and we'll see a pretty nasty race to sign the boy in the upcoming months

Chelsea and Arsenal are leading the race for Aberdeen youngster Lewis Carrol, The Athletic reports on Thursday.

The 15-year-old centre-back has not even made his maiden appearance for the Aberdeen senior squad, but his talent has caught the attention of the Premier League's greats.

The Blues have had him on their monitor for some time, but it is understood that Arsenal have joined the race for his move.

Carrol turns 16 next month and has been compared to John Stones for his ability to bring the ball out of defence.

He is eligible to sign a professional contract this year, but if he moves before, then Aberdeen would be due training compensation rather than a transfer fee.
