After Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes also signs until 2028
As anticipated, Real Madrid has officially announced the extension of Rodrygo Goes' contract. The new deal will keep Rodrygo at the club until 2028 and includes a release clause of $1,1 billion, which is the typical amount for Madrid's star players.
Rodrygo's previous contract was set to expire in 2025, so this contract extension was expected. Despite facing some challenges in the current season, the Brazilian attacker is still highly valued by the club due to his potential and contributions. This extension reflects the club's confidence in his skills.
The agreement for Rodrygo's contract extension had been reached several months ago, but both parties decided to wait a bit before making the official announcement, similar to the approach taken with Vinicius.
Real Madrid is also in the process of extending the contracts of other key players like Camavinga, Militao, and Valverde. Therefore, there may be more contract extension announcements from the club in the coming weeks.
At just 22 years of age, Rodrygo has already been a significant contributor to Real Madrid's success in recent seasons. He has played 179 games, scoring 39 goals, and helped the team win eight titles, including the Champions League, Club World Cup, European Super Cup, two La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and two Spanish Super Cups. His performances, including crucial goals in the UEFA Champions League, have played a pivotal role in the club's achievements. In the 2023 Copa del Rey final, he scored both winning goals and was named the MVP, further highlighting his importance to the team.
