Aston Villa star denies accusations that he was too scared to step up in the shoot-out against Italy

Haters gonna hate.

That's probably one of the oldest wisdom out there. And for a good reason, too, because the circumstances change, but human behaviour remains the same. Just check out the storm of criticism in England with Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling finding themselves in the middle of undeserved accusations.

Some of the fans and pundits think those two were too scared to show up in the penalty shoot-out, so Gareth Southgate had to pick youngsters like Saka, Sancho and Rashford. Of course, it's not correct, but we're living in a world flooded with fake news and false conclusions.

So when even Roy Keane joined the cavalry and made rude remarks on Sterling and Grealish, the latter had to raise his voice. He explained there was no fear prior to the penalty shoot-out whatsoever.
