Ange rebuilding from the foundation up: Spanish goalkeeper is his number one wish at Spurs

Brentford's high-performing goalie David Raya is Tottenham's potential reinforcement

New Tottenham Hotsput manager Ange Postecoglou faces a difficult test of rebuilding the first team and cleaning up the mess that was left after Antonio Conte, Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho. It's not a job for the faint-hearted, but the Australian coach is keen to do it.

The new boss does not officially start at the club until 1 July but reportedly held a meeting with Daniel Levy on Friday to discuss transfers.

The first order of business is to secure the most sensitive position - the goalkeeper. With Hugo Lloris on his way out of the club and in decline in terms of form, the club captain won't be the first choice next season - even if he ends up staying in North London.

Brentford's star performer David Raya is the player who should be a long-term replacement for the Frenchman. The 27-year-old Spaniard is entering the final year of his contract at Brentford Community Stadium and has already informed manager Thomas Frank and the club directors that he wouldn't be signing a new deal. So, Brentford either sell him now or lose him without receiving a substantial fee.

Speaking in May, Frank told reporters that Raya's price had been set at $50 million. But with the player entering the last 12 months of his contract, the Danish coach and his employers should consider lowering their demands. The notorious deal-maker Levy will undoubtedly try to get a better price.
