An afternoon of pain and two minutes of bliss: Lille return to fifth thanks to David and Cabella

Les Dogues won't give on a place in Europe without a fight

Two goals in two second-half minutes were enough for LOSC Lille to earn a comeback and three points in their home clash with Montpellier on Sunday afternoon.

Jonathan David and Remy Cabella stopped their fans from worrying with two goals that kept the points at their Stade Pierre Mauroy.

The visitors were the first to find the net through Guinean international Issiaga Sylla. Sadly for their coach Michel Der Zakaria, that was just about everything they've done to cause problems for Lille's young goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.

Former Newcastle United winger Remy Cabella faced his old club Montpellier and was the difference maker with 2o minutes to go. First, he raced down the left wing and delivered the ball for Canadian forward Jonathan David to steer home and then he got on the scoresheet himself just 120 seconds later, scoring a header from close range to complete the turnaround.

LOSC Lille players wouldn't let the visitors give them another unpleasant surprise, and they kept the ball wisely for the rest of the game. They could have scored another goal in added time, but Edon Zhegrova had his shot stopped by Benjamin Lecomte.

The win put Lille back in fifth and within chasing distance of the Champions League places. However, they will have to show more consistent form if they want to return to Europe's elite club competition.
