Adel Amrouche revisited his 10 game unbeaten run with Harambee Stars and how he has changed the fortune of players.

Former Harambee Stars head coach Adel Amrouche has gone on an epic rant about his track record as a coach including his long unbeaten record during his stint with the Kenyan National team, Harambee Stars.

In a rejoinder with Zimbabwean newspaper, The Herald, Amrouche issued a fiery response to a previous article about him published by the media house that detailed his most controversial incidents as his Botswana side prepares to take on Zimbabwe in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Algerian coach whose most memorable episodes of his career have emanated largely from his own mouth, opened up on his 10-game unbeaten run at the helm of Harambee Stars.

“In Kenya, in 20 games, I never lost any games before I was banned (by) that Mafia of CAF and I won my case against them. And, with Libya, I changed the national team, I brought a new generation, and, now, half of the team plays out of the country. I am a coach who prefers to work and not to talk,” said Amrouche.

However, the above statement by Adel Amrouche, is not factual. Kenya went on a 10-game unbeaten run between September 2013 and July 2014 with the tactician in charge. The record was broken on 20th July 2014 when Harambee lost by a solitary goal to minnows Lesotho in an AFCON Qualifier. He was dismissed after that.

The 53-year-old went on to claim that he is the first UEFA Pro License (holder) in Africa and the only Instructor for EFA Pro License who is originally from Africa.

Amrouche continued to chest thump about his pedigree and how he readies African players for the lucrative European market.

“All players, who work with me, get a chance to go play in Europe because I raise the levels, for these boys, to be on the same levels as European players,’’ he said.

“Ask yourself, why this coach, when he starts to work with any team, the players start to move out?” added the gaffer.

The former Burundi National Team coach opened up on how he advised David Cheche Ochieng to join Saudi outfit Al Taawoun and a host of other players and in turn, changed their livelihood.
