Alube tipping Naivas FC to gain FKF Premier League promotion

The 26 year old is banking on experience he gained at Vihiga and now defunct Chemelil to help Naivas run away with one of the two automatic promotion slots

National Super League side Naivas FC have continued with their squad reinforcement in the ongoing player registration window by roping in experienced goalkeeper Morgan Alube from Vihiga United.

The former Chemelil Sugar FC net minder joined Naivas after impressing the technical bench during training sessions with the club following an unsuccessful trial period at Nzoia Sugar FC.

Alube, who spent most of last season as a makeshift forward following the agonizing quorum hitch at Vihiga engineered by the player transfer ban at the club, has expressed his desire to guide the shopper's to Football Kenya Federation Premier League next season.

Alube, 26, said he is banking on experience he gained while turning out for Vihiga and now defunct Chemlil in the top-tier to help Naivas run away with one of the two automatic promotion slots.

The Nairobi based club were on course to achieve promotion the previous season though a dip in form late in the campaign saw the Collins Omondi coached side settle on a fifth place finish.

"I am super excited for this new challenge," he said. "Naivas FC have a very nice project and I learnt a lot in the past season’s top flight sides. The lessons will definitely play a crucial role in my career and in achieving the ambitions I have. One of the goals I have is helping Naivas secure promotion next season."

Alube, who was part of Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) nominees for the 2018-2019 men's top tier goalkeeper of the season after accumulating ten clean sheets, has expressed his desire to reciprocate the form and be among the best in the competition that is regarded as one of the toughest league in Kenya.

"I want to get my form back and keep as many clean sheets as possible," said Morgan.

The exit of the veteran second tier goalkeeper is welcomed at the rebuilding Naivas however, it is a bitter pill at Vihiga United who had to survive on a lean squad of twelve last season and have in the ongoing window lost a couple of players among them Peter Mbuya to Nzoia Sugar FC, Mark Okolla to Shabana FC and the versatile Oscar Wanambisi who has linked up with Division One newbies Compel FC.
