Gor Mahia midfielder John Macharia only has his eyes focused on bagging the league title with his new side come the end of the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season.
After having stints abroad with two Georgian clubs where he moved to back in 2017 from National Super League side FC Talanta, the former under 20 Kenyan international joined the record Kenyan champions last year in August before the commencement of the current campaign.

Macharia, who scored a brace on Thursday to help Gor breeze past Cusco in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup after a 5-0 thumping, reiterated that his efforts this season are only geared towards being declared a league winner with the Green Army.
“I just want to win the league title at Gor Mahia. That was my first target the moment I came back and signed with Gor and hopefully by the end of the campaign we are going to win it,” the player told Mozzart Sport.

After enduring a torrid first half to the season, the reigning champions have reinvented themselves and after a five game winning streak, K’Ogalo have jumped up to fourth on the log on 31 points only seven adrift log leading Tusker who have played a game extra.
The former Talanta player believes that the team’s resurgent second half start in the league is testament that the Kenyan champions can add a twentieth league crown and in turn fulfill his targets with the club.
“At first we had not gelled well when the league was starting. When you look at us right now we do not concede easily and we have become very consistent. Right now we are on 31 points having played a game less compared to teams ahead of us. It is very possible to go and win the title because we have closed the gap on our opponents. Hopefully we will win it,” the player stated.
