On the other hand, RS Berkane beat Orlando Pirates on penalties to be crowned CAF Confedereation Cup champions for the second time running.
Egypt's Al Ahly are the reigning Super Cup champions having seen off Raja Casablanca last year in post-match penalties after playing to a one-all draw in regular time.
Al Ahly, now under the tutelage of Ricardo Soares, are also the record holders of the title with eight.
This is Wydad’s fourth final which sees them go level with Raja Casablanca for the most Super Cup Final appearances for a Moroccan team and they will be out to lay their hands on a second Super Cup title while Berkane have their eyes on a maiden one.
No country has had more different clubs reaching the Super Cup final than Morocco (6). In addition to Wydad Casablanca, Raja Casablanca, RS Berkane and Maghreb FEZ, they have also had FAR Rabat and FUS Rabat ending as runners up.
