The England international’s injury comes at an unfortunate time, with Bayern set to face Real Madrid in the Champions League
There is growing concern in Munich over Harry Kane. Europe’s top scorer this season and one of the most important players for the German champions was absent from England’s squad in their 1–0 defeat to Japan two days ago, which was enough to set off alarm bells on Sabener Strasse.

The prolific striker suffered a minor ankle injury during the national team’s final training session ahead of that match, which is why he was rested. The England medical staff carried out an examination, but Bayern are leaving nothing to chance and have already scheduled their own tests once Kane returns to Munich.
According to sources close to the club cited by Sky, Vincent Kompany has already decided not to use the Englishman on Saturday against Freiburg, in order to avoid any risk of aggravating the issue and potentially jeopardizing Kane’s availability for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

It’s worth noting that Kane has already missed several matches in March. For example, he was absent against Borussia Mönchengladbach, started on the bench in Leverkusen, and did not feature at all against Atalanta. As the season enters its final stretch, Kompany is clearly trying to preserve the freshness of his main striker, fully aware of how much Bayern’s game depends on him—especially with the decisive stages of Europe’s elite competition approaching.
