The Libyan side will be banking on the knowledge of the videos they have watched of the Kakamega-based side

Al Hilal Benghazi's coach Mohamed Ouda is anticipating a physical encounter against Kakamega Homeboyz when the two sides face off in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary match at the Nyayo Stadium on Saturday 19 August 2023 starting at 3 PM EAT.

Speaking during an open training session on Friday afternoon at the venue of the action, the 49-year-old Egyptian tactician revealed they had watched the Kenyan side play and seen their physical attribute, most recently during the FKF Charity Shield last weekend as they went down to Gor Mahia in post-match penalties.

"We know we are coming to play a good team that is very physical and we expect a tough match against them. We watched them play in the cup against Gor Mahia in the cup last week but I am confident that my team will play well and we will have a good result. We know how they play because have we watched a couple of their matches," Ouda said.

Ahead of the match, the former El Mokawloon tactician opines that they have not had enough time to prepare for the continental engagement considering that the Libyan league ended recently.

Al Hilal wrapped up their league action just over a month ago with a 1-0 win over Al-Nasr that saw them end a six-game winless streak.

They will be without up to seven players who will be out with injuries but Ouda remains hopeful that they return for the second leg of the encounter against Homeboyz.

"We have seven players who will miss the match due to injuries. We just finished our league and had little time to prepare and recover considering we started our pre-season training about 10 days ago. However, I hope that the players who miss the first match will be available for the return leg when we host our opponent," he added.

Ouda's sentiments were echoed by team captain Zeglam Ibrhim who opines that they have watched enough of Kakamega Homeboyz and they will do their best to pick a positive result from Nairobi.

Tickets will retail at Ksh.500 for the VIP section and Ksh.200 for the terraces and will be sold on the match day at Riadha House and at the Nyayo Stadium Police Post Gate starting at 9 AM.
