Akhulia reveals Bidco's target finish ahead of next season

After narrowly avoiding the drop, Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has revealed that he is targeting a top 10 or top-five finish ahead of the 2022-2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.

The Thika-based club finished just two points above the Promotion/Relegation Playoff that was occupied by Wazito who went on to win their Playoff against Murang’a Seal to confirm their top-flight status.

Akhulia who guided the club to their maiden Premier League berth revealed that he is looking for a top 10 finish or an even better top-five finish.

“We are targeting a top 10 finish or even go better with a top top-five finish, every year you should strive to be a better team and a better person.

Our signings are doing good, Ndung’u finished the game against Police with an assist, Okare had a number of open chances but failed to take them,” said Akhulia.

Bidco finally got their maiden pre-season win on Saturday after coming from two goals behind to seal a 3-2 win over Kenya Police.

Akhulia admitted that some of his players are still not 100% ready for the new season but with over a month till the new season which kicks off on Thursday 20 October according to FKF President Nick Mwendwa, his side will be ready.

“We still have a couple of players who are struggling with fitness but I know before the league starts we will all be in shape,” added Akhulia.
