Two potential players who could fill Mohamed Salah’s place come from the same country and play in Germany’s top league

Mohamed Salah is set to leave Liverpool FC, marking the end of an era at Anfield. The club icon is expected to depart this summer, with a move to Saudi Arabia seen as the most likely destination. His exit opens the door for a new chapter in Liverpool’s squad rebuild, with 22-year-old Florian Wirtz viewed as one of the key figures of the next generation. At the same time, the club’s recruitment team is actively working to strengthen the right-back position.

According to SPORT BILD, 20-year-old Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim is high on Liverpool’s shortlist. The Ivory Coast international was recently observed during his country’s 1–0 victory over Scotland at Everton’s stadium.

The left-footed defender has impressed this season with two goals and ten assists in the Bundesliga, and a transfer to the Premier League is increasingly seen as realistic. His price tag is expected to be around €40 million, with his contract running until 2029 and containing no release clause.

Another option under consideration is Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. The attacking midfielder has contributed ten goals and seven assists in the league, and Leipzig are reportedly demanding up to €100 million for his services.

His contract runs until 2030. Diomande recently spoke to SPORT BILD, saying: “I have a great life, and I owe that to RB Leipzig. I am very happy at the club and want to experience a lot more with the team. I still have big goals, but everything comes in its own time.”

What remains clear is that Liverpool are waiting for firm offers and clarity regarding the coaching situation, as a managerial change is expected in the summer. The leading candidate to replace Arne Slot is Xabi Alonso.
