The Ghanaian defender will leave Southampton for £‎15 million

God knows what will happen with Aleksandar Mitrovic and his Fulham tenure, as the striker is pushing for a Saudi move. However, unlike their attacking line, the defensive axis of the Craven Cottage outfit seems to be more than clear and rather African.

After the news of possible Calvin Bassey's arrival from Ajax Amsterdam, the latest reports say that the Nigerian player won't be the only African joining the black and whites.

As per The Athletic, Fulham are close to agreeing to a £15 million deal to sign Southampton and Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu.

The West London club are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign and have identified Salisu as a pivotal player to recruit.

The 24-year-old joined Southampton in 2020 from Spanish side Valladolid on an initial four-year contract.

The Ghana international previously held talks with Southampton over extending his deal but looked unlikely to stay following their relegation to the EFL Championship last season.
