Many of the young prospects for the Bavarians have African decent

Bayern Munich has secured the brightest Germany coaching talent for themselves by paying 25 million euros to Leipzig for the services of Julian Nagelsmann. And the new coach is already established at winning, and winning with young players. He promoted a number of youngsters in Hoffenheim and Leipzig and is on course to continue the same job in Bayern.

The Bavarians have recently bought a number of young players with a bright future, and most of them, although they are Germans or French by birth, have their roots in Africa, who has produced some excellent young players and future stars. Julian Nagelsmann will have a number of players whose parents come from the African continent and they are in the best possible position to succeed.

Alphonso Davies – Only 20 years old, but already has two Bundesliga titles, and the third is coming soon, maybe even this week. The young Liberian born in Ghana refugee camp is one of the good stories in football. After his parents went to Canada, young Davies started training football and switched from Vancover to Bayern’s second team in 2018, but soon found himself in the first team. He is capable of playing either as a left back or a wing back. Davies is signed through 2025, and by the time his contract is up, he will probably have three more Bundesliga titles.

Jamal Musiala – German midfielder with Nigerian decent is only 18, but he is already a regular substitute for the Bavarians. The youngster already has 36 games with the first teams in which scored seven goal, mostly coming from bench. Musiala played for both England and Germany from U15 until U21, and finally opted for Germany National Team, for which he debuted in March 2021, against Iceland. Musiala is offically the all-time youngest goalscorer in the Bundesliga and a future starter for Nagelsmann. His contract runs out in 2026.

Dayot Upamecano – The 22-years old defender will become Bayern’s first signing of the season. The Frenchman with Bissau-Guinean descent is currently playing for Leipzig, and will renuite with his current boss Julian Nagelsmann in Munich. Upamecano already has five seasons in the Bundesliga under his belt, along with 20 appereances times in the UEFA Champions League. He will be a regular starter in Bayern’s defense, along with Alphonso Davies, regardless of the formation or tactics.

Tanguy Nianzou – The 18-years old defender signed a four-year deal from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020. The Frenchman with Ivorian descent debuted for the Saints in both League 1 and the Champions League in 2019, before leaving for Bayern. His games in Munich were limited to only five, due to injuries, but his name will certainly appear in the line-up in the forseable future.
