Miheso rejoined Leopards during the off-season window ahead of the 2023/24 league

AFC Leopards winger Clifton Miheso has apologized to the Ingwe faithful following Saturday’s 2-0 derby loss to Gor Mahia at the Moi Kasarani Stadium.

A goal from Benson Omala in each half helped Gor Mahia pick up maximum points over their struggling archrivals. The defeat leaves Ingwe second from bottom in the log and remain winless after six league outings this campaign. Sofapaka is the only other team yet to win a league match this season and are rock bottom in the log.

The defeat elicited an angry reaction from Ingwe faithful in the stadium and on social media, and Miheso, who started in the game, has taken to social media to apologise to fans for the loss. He promised that the players would work harder to make the supporters happy.

Miheso rejoined the Leopards during the off-season window from Kenya Police FC and has started in the last three matches, including the ill-fated derby.

"I want to apologize for our performance in the Derby game. It's painful to lose, especially in such an important match. We know you deserve better, and we'll work harder to make sure this doesn't happen again. Your support means everything to us, and we promise to bounce back stronger," he said.

Meanwhile, Ingwe are set to make changes to their technical bench. Head coach Tom Juma is expected to depart alongside a number of his backroom staff. The club is already in the process of securing his successor before the next game against Bandari.

Juma was appointed head coach just over two months ago when coach Patrick Aussems opted to leave the club. The club went on a signing spree, bringing on board 20 new players. The team appeared disjointed from the start, and six matches in, the team appeared far from being a united unit.
