Former coach Tom Juma, goalkeeper trainer Lawrence Webo and physiotherapist Boniventure Odire were awarded millions of shillings by the Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) after being fired by the club two years ago.
The three were awarded more than Ksh7 million after Leopards were found guilty of illegally terminating their contracts.
“Regarding Juma and the other former coaches, we found an existing agreement that all grants received from Football Kenya Federation (FKF) go to clear the balance.”
“I am happy to inform our fans that the debt has since been cleared,” he said during a radio interview on Saturday.
Reflecting on his first six months in office, Ambani said he found the club's accounts frozen as several players had sued Ingwe for unfair dismissal.
“There was a debt of Ksh700,000 by a former player, which had caused the account to be frozen. We immediately called the player and paid him,” he revealed.
He said the club also owed another player Ksh300,000, which they also cleared and revealed that AFC Leopards has significantly reduced its debt obligations, allowing them to do more.
Ambani further said the club’s good fortunes have been a result of their efforts to take care of the welfare of the players.
“When we came into office, we found morale low due to outstanding allowances. We promised to clear the same, but since we took over, we have paid all winning bonuses up to date, and this is the reason the players are motivated and doing well on the pitch.”
He also spoke of restructuring the women's side and the youth team by ensuring that the players are well taken care of.
Ambani replaced Dan Shikanda as chairman of the club last year. Under his guidance, Leopards are placed second on the log.
