The owner of the Greek side AEK Athens, Marios Iliopoulos, offered a €300,000 bonus to his national team players in case they stun the Three Lions again

Thirty-five days ago, Greece shocked England at Wembley, beating Lee Carsley's crew 2-1 behind Vangelis Pavlidis' brace. Tonight (22.45), the two teams will meet again, this time in Athens and the home team will have additional motivation if the simple imperative to win is not inspirational enough.

Namely, the owner of the Greek club AEK Athens, Marios Iliopoulos, offered a bonus to the national team players if they manage to make another colossal surprise and beat the Three Lions again. Looking at the table, it may not be as shocking as it initially looks, given that Greece lead Group 2 with the maximum number of points, while the Englishmen sit three points behind.

Ivan Jovanovic's boys would keep the top spot even in case of a defeat, but it has to be by a minimal margin. Their chances are much higher after as many as eight players dropped out of Carsley's squad due to injuries. Hence, England will be without Levi Colwill, Declan Rice, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, and Cole Palmer. Moreover, according to The Guardian, Harry Kane will start the match from the bench, although the reasons behind such Carsley's decision are not revealed.
