The Turkish Super Lig champions barely beat Samsunspor 3-2, as the Nigerian bagged a brace, scoring the beautiful winner deep in added time
Many would argue that this is a bold claim, but after yesterday's Turkish Super Lig clash between Galatasaray and Samsunspor, it's almost axiomatic: Who knows what would have happened with Galata had it not been for Victor Osimhen.
He's the Champions League second-leading scorer with six goals, he brought his team victories against Liverpool, Bodo/Glimt, and Ajax, and now he's took matters into his own hands in the domestic league as well, scoring a brace and a late winner in a 3-2 triumph against Samsunspor which prevented Fenerbahce from having a chance to leapfrog the fierce rivals.
Initially, nothing hinted at such a turn of events, as Okan Buruk's men were 2-0 up at the break behind Leroy Sane and the Nigerian's goals. However, as if they got too complacent in the second half, they slowly but surely allowed the visitors to wake up, and Samsunspor seized their chance.
Anthony Musaba in the 56th and Emre Kilinc in the 88th minutes levelled the score, stunned the packed Rams Park in Istanbul, and rejoiced the blue-and-yellow part of the largest Turkish city.
And then, the hero without a cape stepped up again.

In the second minute of added time, Osimhen completed a brace and netted a beautiful overhead winner, maintaining Galatasaray's four-point lead over Fenerbahce and proving that this team would have been in massive trouble without him.
