The two internationals both got minutes of action for their respective matches in games played on Saturday

Harambee Stars internationals in Duke Abuya and David ‘Calabar’ Owino got on the opposite ends of results as Nkana FC and Napsa Stars recorded contrasting results in the Zambian Super League matches played on Saturday evening. Here is a wrap of how the action unfolded.

Duke Abuya

After scoring in Nkana’s previous win, the former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder was once again named in the matchday starting eleven as his Nkana side confronted Prison Leopards in a round 24 top tier match staged at the Nkana Stadium.

Unlike their 4-1 thrashing of Napsa Stars where Nkana fell behind early on before Abuya started the comeback with an equalizer, Nkana went ahead with an opening goal from Takudzwa Chimwemwe in the 27th minute. Just when the home team thought they would go into the half time break with the slender goal advantage, Leopards had other ideas, David Obash finding the back of the net just a minute to the half time interval to ensure the two teams were level half way through the match.

Just as Leopards did in the first half, Nkana gave the visitors a taste of their own medicine in the second 45, Freddy Tshimenga scoring with two minutes left on the clock to steal the three points in the match and hand Nkana a much needed win as the fight to avoid relegation continues.

David ‘Calabar’ Owino

The former Gor Mahia man had a comeback to forget as his Napsa Stars ended up surrendering a 2-1 lead to eventually lose 4-2 at the hands of Green Eagles. The player was however brought off in the 45th minute of the game as his team shipped in three goals second half goals.

Anos Tembo gave Eagles the perfect start when he scored after just three minutes of the game. An inspired play from Bornwell Mwape saw the forward bag a brace as he momentarily put his side ahead before the half time break.

It was a different ball game altogether in the second half as Eagles came back charging as they squeezed three past Napsa. Lineker Mwikisa found the equalizer in the 59th minute before bagging his brace with another in the 80th minute. Tembo, who found the opening goal, also got in on the double scoring act when he found the Eagle’s fourth with a goal deep into stoppage time in the 90+3rd minute to complete the second half turnaround.
