AATOTW: Malian impenetrable wall, Algerian Nice duo and star strikers shining up front
Reading Time: 3min | Tue. 01.11.22. | 13:24
This weeks' best eleven in the European Top 5 leagues show some fresh names and some who simply won't leave our creme-de-la-creme squad
Goalkeeper
ANDRE ONANA (Cameroon/Inter Milan)
Former Ajax custodian has completely pushed out the long-serving Inter Milan goalkeeper and captain Samir Handanovic - and rightfully so. The wobbly results Nerazzurri have been recording at the beginning of the season cannot be linked to the African as he is doing a great job between the posts. Last week's clean sheet against Sampdoria, overall great performance and few magnificent saves are putting him confidently into our Team of the Week.
Defence
DJENE (Togo/Getafe)
Captain of the Madridian club helped his team keep a clean sheet against bottom-seeded Elche and take all three points in Getafe's battle to survive in the Spanish elite.
MASSADIO HAIDARA (Mali/Lens)
Lens were ruthless against Toulouse at their Stade Bollaert-Delelis (3-0) and one of the reasons Les Sang et Or were so dominant is the confident defensive display, providing for the attacking portion of the squad to deliver. Thanks to Haidara and his stronghold, Toulouse were clueless about how to penetrate the left side of Lens' center-back duo.
🔙 Depuis la dernière trêve Massadio Haidara (29 ans/ RC Lens 🇫🇷) s’est montré très important pour les Sang et Or enchaînant de grosses prestations ! 🥷

HAMARI TRAORE (Mali/Rennes)
Malian right back did a great job on the right flank in his side thrashing of ever-tricky Montpellier. Both offensively and defensively, Traore kept the right out-line in check.
YOUCEF ATAL (Nice/Algeria)
The North African scored in the 61st minute, equalizing and pushing his side to a full comeback against in-form Lorient. Being one of the best players on the field, no doubt - the 20-year-old put the wheels of Nice's victory in motion.

Midfield
HAMZA SAKHI (Auxerre/Morocco)
Sakhi's early goal was sufficient for Auxerre to defeat Ajaccio in this clash of two struggling sides. Even without putting himself on the scoreboard, the 26-year-old dominated the midfield and kept his squad on the upper foot throughout the match.
THOMAS PARTEY (Ghana/Arsenal)
Another 'day' in the office for the Black Stars midfield commander. Partey's Gunners demolished Nottingham Forest and the Ghanaian scored a first-touch stunner. Apart from sending the ball beautifully inside the net, Partey allowed the Foresters no chance to try counterattacking through the middle of the pitch.
HICHAM BOUDAOUI (Algeria/Nice)
Another player representing the Fennec Foxes and the club from Cote d'Azur. The 23-year-old Boudaoui was a constant menace for Lorient's left flank. Operating in tandem with his countryman Atal, Boudaoui created several big chances, keeping optimism and hope for a comeback on a high.
Attack
MAMA BALDE (Guinea Bissau/Troyes)
Even though his side lost to star-studded Paris Saint-Germain, Balde imposed himself as a major threat for the champions' defence. The 26-year-old scored two out of his team's three goals and proved he can wrestle with the best of the best - netting twice against Sergio Ramos and Presnel Kimpembe is a massive feature for this striker's CV.

The Troyes striker scored two goals against a star studded @PSG_inside side in a 4-3 loss at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.

SADIO MANE (Senegal/Bayern Munich)
It was a busy 'day' for one of the best players on the planet. Against Mainz, he was composed enough to score a goal after a missed penalty and then set up his teammates to net the ball twice, pushing the Bundesliga champions to a thumping 6-2 victory.
VICTOR OSIMHEN (Napoli/Nigeria)
It's like this man is subscribed to our Team of the Week choice. Ever since he came back after an injury, the Nigerian has been incredible for the Serie A table toppers. In last week's thrashing of Sassuolo at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, the 23-year-old scored a hat-trick, thus continuing his great run in form.
