The exciting attacker is will complete the move to the Premier League club

Aston Villa have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Jamaica forward Leon Bailey. The move is subject to Bailey completing medical and agreeing personal terms with the Birmingham club.

Bailey, who enjoyed four-and-a-half seasons at Leverkusen, had been on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool. However, Aston Villa were the only ones who didn't hesitate and met Leverkusen's asking price of around $42 million.

The 23-year-old winger has just enjoyed his best-ever Bundesliga season with nine goals and nine assists, but Leverkusen were willing to sell this summer after their failure to qualify for the Champions League. The Jamaica international had been offered to Premier League clubs this summer following Leverkusen's failure to qualify for the Champions League. Several of England's top clubs were tracking the Jamaica international last summer, but it's Villa Park will be Bailey's home in the next several years.

It has been claimed that Villa are prepared to accept a $139m bid from City for their captain Jack Grealish. The addition of Bailey, who plays in a similar role, will undoubtedly pour more fuel on the fire regarding reports that Grealish could be on his way to Etihad Stadium in the coming days.
