One of the most bizarre transfers we've seen in recent times

We've heard a lot in modern football, but we've never heard something like this before. English footballer Ryan Kent has chosen a new club, and the key reason he decided to move to Iran and sign for Persepolis is that he can keep a crocodile as a pet.

The Oldham-born player has been without a club since October 2024 when he left Fenerbahçe and is now in the final stages of negotiations with the Iranian club.

In addition to being attracted to living and playing football in Tehran, the former Liverpool academy graduate decided to move there because the law allows him to keep a crocodile as a pet. The fact that it's legal to have a crocodile in the house is what most excites the 28-year-old winger, who was known for having snakes as pets while playing for Rangers.

James Tavernier once revealed that Kent had bought him a snake as a New Year's gift. Because of this, the popular "Secret Santa" game was canceled in the Rangers team. From snakes, he's now moved to crocodiles, and when Persepolis' coach Ismail Kartal explained that he could keep them at home and join his team, Englishman must have jumped with joy. The contract will soon be signed, and he'll be in Iran, as reported by Marca.

The former England youth international passed through Liverpool's academy, and the Reds loaned him out to Barnsley, Coventry, Freiburg, and Rangers. In September 2019, the Scottish club bought him for 7.2 million euros, where he spent four seasons.

From Rangers, he moved as a free agent to Fenerbahce, where he worked with Ismail Kartal, but after his departure, he lost his place in the team, and his contract was terminated in October of last year.
