The Argentinian rejected a new contract offer and expressed his desire to leave the club
A turbulent period is behind but also ahead of Julian Alvarez. After the exhausting season with Man City, he's currently at Copa America with his national team, where Argentina await the final against Colombia (Monday, 3 am). Afterward, he'll travel to Paris to represent his country at the Olympics. The only uncertain and unplanned thing is where the Argentinian will go from the capital of France, given that he doesn't want to return to Manchester!

According to El Chiringuito, the 24-year-old has officially demanded to be put on the transfer list and requested that the club sell him. This information was also announced by all the media from the United Kingdom. The Cityzens offered Alvarez a new four-year contract, but he allegedly turned it down, bringing forward a counterproposal - his departure. The player was mainly dissatisfied with the lack of playing time since he was one of the most deserving of Argentina's triumph at the 2022 World Cup, while in the club, he was in Erling Haaland's shadow most of the time.
Furthermore, the forward asked Man City to put a reasonable price on him so that he could find a new club without a hitch and further ado. An estimated sum that would satisfy the club from Etihad Stadium is around 90 million euros. The English side allegedly rejected Atletico Madrid's offer for the Argentinian last year, and now Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are mentioned as interested parties.
