Raul Garcia scored a fantastic goal in the 90th minute and shocked Los Blancos, bringing the Pamplona side its first win (2-1) over the capital crew since 2011
Throughout this week, everyone at Real Madrid was focused on the alleged racism case against Vinicius Junior at the Champions League clash against Benfica in Lisbon. After today’s duel against Osasuna, it’s clear that they should have paid more attention to their game.
For the first time since January 2011, Osasuna beat Los Blancos (2-1), shocked the Spanish giants, and opened the door for Barcelona to take the top of the league again.
Already during the opening half, it was clear that Madrid would struggle, as Ante Budimir destroyed their defence, but scored only once from the spot. After the break, Alvaro Arbeloa’s men woke up, but Vini’s 73rd-minute leveller and Kylian Mbappe’s disallowed goal were their only notable moments.
Amid Madrid’s rush for the winner, Osasuna’s counterattacks and Raul Garcia’s last-minute winner sealed the capital crew’s fate, and brought immense joy to the packed Estadio El Sadar.

The opening half of the duel in Pamplona revealed all of Real Madrid's vulnerabilities. Better said, Osasuna striker Ante Budimir did it single-handedly.
The Croatian wasted almost half a dozen good chances. A couple went far over the bar, a couple went narrowly wide of the post, and on some occasions, Thibaut Courtois superbly saved Los Blancos' skin.
However, seven minutes before the break, the Belgian was late for one ball, tackling Budimir in the box, and the ref had no dilemma - penalty kick for Osasuna. The striker took it himself, easily hitting the mark and putting the home team in front.
Not only did they seriously struggle defensively, but Madrid's attack was quite futile. A few Vinicius Junior's crosses, Kylian Mbappe's decent long-distance attempt, and one good chance for David Alaba - way too subpar for the capital crew.
After the break, Madrid's energy was slightly improved, as Vini made two solid attempts, both blocked by Osasuna's defenders. Twenty minutes before the end, Mbappe's goal was disallowed for offside, but three minutes later, Los Blancos took no prisoners.
Federico Valverde made an outstanding solo run and crossed the ball inside, meeting Vini, who easily scored and equalized the game. Nine minutes later, following Alejandro Catena's blunder, the Brazilian was very close to completing the brace and his team's comeback, but Javi Galan deprived him of that accomplishment with a fantastic goal-line clearance.
And just when Los Blancos went into full attacking mode with all their powers, Osasuna shocked them with a late winner in the 90th minute, breaking the 15-year winless curse against the Madrid side! Their hero was Raul Garcia, who found the net after a quick counter, turning Raul Asencio inside out and sending him into the stands.
Now, Barcelona have everything in their hands, as they could retake the La Liga throne if they beat Levante at home tomorrow.
