CAF recorded a net profit of USD9.48 million for the 2023–2024 financial year, its first profit in several years. The organisation cited a rise in commercial revenues, the addition of new sponsors, and the implementation of financial controls as key factors contributing to the positive result.

President Dr Patrice Motsepe initiated a strategic turnaround plan in 2021 aimed at addressing previous financial challenges, including deficits and ongoing legal disputes, and making the organisation financially sustainable.

The 2023–2024 financial report shows revenues reaching USD166.42 million. Expenditure priorities included prize money (USD 81 million), tournament organisation (USD 19 million), football development (USD 35 million), and governance and administration (USD 21 million).

CAF also increased investment in competitions, financial support for Zonal Unions and Member Associations, and development programmes.

CAF highlighted growth in sponsorship and partnership agreements, with the number of sponsors and partners rising to 16 in 2024–25.

These agreements were presented as part of efforts to enhance the commercial value of African football and support the organisation’s competitions.

Key changes in prize money across CAF competitions were reported as follows:

TotalEnergies CAF Champions League: Winners’ prize money rose 60% to USD 4 million, with total prize money up 41% to USD 17.6 million.
