2025 AFCONq: Indomitable Lions surprisingly tamed by Zimbabwe, as Kenya top Group J

Harambee Stars' next rival Cameroon (October 11) fail to score in Kampala, 0-0

No one probably saw that coming, but just like Harambee Stars on Friday, Cameroon also drew against Zimbabwe (0-0) today in their AFCON Qualifiers tie in Kampala.

Despite a ball possession of more than 60 per cent, Vincent Aboubakar and his teammates failed to make a single shot on target against the stubborn hosts.

An unexpected goalless draw resulted in Kenya sitting at the top of Group J. The Harambee Stars, like the Indomitable Lions, have four points so far and the same goal difference (+1), but they have scored more goals than Cameroon (2 compared to 1).

Our national side will face Cameroon away in the derby scheduled for October 11 in Yaounde, and the result of that game - just like the reverse leg - will have a major role in deciding the outcome of this qualifying group.

In the other games on Tuesday's menu, Egypt justified stormed on the road against Botswana (4-0), while Algeria was also convincing against Liberia (3-0).

Gabon clinched the first qualifiers' victory by topping Central African Republic 2-0. The Gabonese immediately took control of the game as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted a penalty in the 11th minute, and Babicka sealed the victory with a second-half goal.
