El-Badry has led the Pharaohs in nine games, winning five and seeing four other games end in draws
Egypt Football Association have sacked coach Hossam El-Badry together with his staff following an uninspiring start to their World Cup Qualifying campaign after being held to a 1-all draw by Gabon.
Egypt had to fight from a man and a goal down after Omar Gaber was red-carded in the 70th minute and Gabon went on to score the opening goal three minutes later, with Egypt leveling the scores to settle for a point at the death.
The draw against Gabon was El-Badry's fourth in nine games and was questioned by many, necessitating the Egyptian FA to act.
“The Egyptian Football Association would like to thank Hossam El-Badry and his technical staff for the work they have done for the national team. We wish them good luck and fortune in their future career. And the EFA will decide the new technical staff for the national team during the next 48 hours.” the EFA wrote in their socials.

In his reign as the head coach, El-Badry has led the Pharaohs in nine games, winning five and seeing four other games end in draws.
Egypt had started their campaign well, winning against Angola by a solitary goal, and currently lead Group F with four points.
In other CAF World Cup Qualifiers played yesterday, Ivory Coast beat Cameroon 2-1 while South Africa stunned Ghana in Johannesburg1-0 with Liberia beat the Central Africa Republic with the same scoreline.
Former West Ham United forward Sebastien Haller scored a brace for Ivory Coast with Nicholas Ngamaleu scoring the consolation for Cameroon.

Bongokuhle Hlongwane and Kpah Sherman scored for South Africa and Liberia respectively to hand their teams the wins.
