Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge is among the 75,000 spectators watching the action between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The three-time London Marathon winner is in the UK for a tour with the Premier League giants.

Kipchoge's visit is linked to his partnership with INEOS, one of the world's largest chemical producers, whose founder is a minority shareholder at Manchester United.

Excited to host the legend at the Theatre of Dreams, United shared a photo of Kipchoge on its social media handles, showing him at the technical area of the stadium.

Kipchoge was given a Manchester United jersey with the iconic "159" printed on it from Captain Bruno Fernandes.

The "159" symbolizes the "No Human Is Limited" campaign, during which Kipchoge became the first person in history to run a sub-two-hour marathon in Vienna, Austria, an event sponsored by INEOS founder Jim Ratcliffe.

Kipchoge's visit to Manchester aligns with Ratcliffe's plans. It was reported in February that the British billionaire was considering inviting marathoners for training sessions with United players to enhance their mentality.

Ratcliffe is said to be eager to leverage expertise from other sports, including running, rugby, and Formula One, to revitalize the club and restore its former glory at Old Trafford.

This new strategy by the British billionaire has seen success with Ligue 1 club Nice, where medics from the All Blacks camp were invited to advise the players.

Similarly, Kenyan runners will also be invited to provide tips to Nice players on explosive pace and improving quickness off the mark.

In 2022, Kipchoge signed a long-term performance partnership with INEOS and the NN Running Team.

INEOS's close association with Kipchoge and the NN Running Team dates back to 2019, when it was the driving force behind Kipchoge's INEOS 1:59 Challenge in Vienna, Austria.

Recently, Kenyan marathoners have also delivered talks to All Blacks players, aiming to enhance their mentality and endurance.
