In her last 400m race in June, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone ran 48.75

New Olympic champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone will double the 200m and 400m races at the Brussels Diamond League (September 13-14).

The race organizers - Allianz Memorial Vandamme - confirmed the news on Tuesday, noting that it would be her "first (and only!) appearance after the Paris Olympics."

“So don't miss this unique opportunity to see her in action on both Friday and Saturday nights," they added.

This will be the first time the 25-year-old will have competed on the track since clocking a record time of 50.37 in the 400m hurdles at the Paris Olympic Games.

McLaughlin has competed in seven track meets in 2024, and produced a world lead or world record in four of them.

And with the news about competing in the Belgian capital, questions are already out, considering the fact that she is yet to compete in a Diamond League race this year.

Her participation in Brussels - the final Diamond League race this year which also acts as a final - goes against the set rules, which specify that up to two men and two men who receive “Global Wild Card” in the final must have competed in a regular season Diamond League meet to be eligible.
