Sha'Carri Richardson makes rapper Cardi B shed tears in touching Olympics message [VIDEO]

The 24-year-old sprinter will be finally be making her Olympics debut in Paris

Multi-Grammy Award winner and American rapper Cardi B was moved to tears by the world's fastest woman alive, Sha'Carri Richardson as she delivered a heartfelt message to the sprinter ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The two appeared in a National Broadcasting Company (NBC) promo ahead of the Olympics that are slated to officially commence on Friday 26 July.

The first female rapper to win the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album (Invasion of Privacy) as a solo artist revealed that she will be rooting for Sha’Carri at the Olympics in a touching message.

“You bought so much emotion out of me because your words and your spirit is so powerful. Seeing your growth after people tried to turn their back on you is so inspirational to me.

“You are more than just a athlete, you are a SUPERHERO and I can't wait to see where the next 10 years take you because you already a legend.

“You're like a girl that I could really hang out with, really chill with, really be cool with, really be like, GIRL! She's really like one of us … I'm really really proud of you,” said Cardi B.

In the video that was shot while the two superstars were getting their nails done, Sha’Carri also reserved kind words for Cardi B, noting that she has also had a lasting impact on the society.

“Enough about me though. You are Ms. Cardi B… I feel like you have that same impact. Just being yourself inspires so many people.”

The 31-year-old American rapper struggled to hold back her emotions as she went on to wax lyrical about Sha’Carri who will finally be making her Olympics debut.

“I feel inspired and I feel so warm. I'm not gonna cry, but I feel really warm. The energy, I feel it girl. You are so special. You're more than an athlete. You're really special,” added Cardi B.

The 24-year-old sprinter was banned ahead of the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for THC, a chemical found in marijuana.

She has however bounced back to qualify for the 2024 Games where she is a favourite to clinch the 100m title after bagging 100m gold at the 2023 World Championships.
