AK will use this meet, together with other meetings when considering athletes to be invited for Trials for African Games
Athletics Kenya (AK) will host the third AK Track and Field Weekend Meet at Nyayo National Stadium on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 January, the federation has announced.
The third leg of the series comes hot on the heels of the second meet held at Ulinzi Complex on 5 and 6 January where more than 1000 athletes lined up for the different disciplines.
Just like its predecessor, the meet will be used as a qualifier for various international championships and is open to all athletes.

“All athletes will be required to collect their numbers in PERSON on Thursday 25th January 2024 at Nyayo Stadium starting 9 am to 6 pm. Any athlete who fails to collect their bib numbers on the date indicated above will NOT be allowed to compete.
AK will use this meet, together with other meetings when considering athletes to be invited for Trials for African Games, and as such we encourage athletes to participate in Nyayo Stadium,” a communique from the federation reads in part.
The entry standards for the upcoming continental games are out and, with qualification open until 20 February, there is no time to rest for those eyeing Team Kenya to the event. Qualifying times must be achieved between 1 January 2023 and the deadline date.
The 13th African Games are expected to be held in Ghana between 8 and 23 March 2024. This is the second time in history that the games will be decentralized, as three cities on country will host the event. The three cities chosen for these functions are Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast.
Athletics will be hosted at the University of Ghana Stadium.
