
Pomp and Color at Mozzart-powered Nandi Road Race

It was pomp and colour as the twelfth edition of the Re-discover Nandi road race curtains came falling at the Namgoi Mixed Day Secondary School grounds, Kapsabet.
The race powered by leading betting company Mozzart Bet saw four hundred athletes from either genders compete for honors on the hilly course.
The event was graced by the firm's country manager Sasa Krneta, the Chief Administrative Secretary, Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Dr Andrew Tuimur, Secretary to the National Environmental Complaints Committee, Dr John Chumo, Mozzart Bet Marketing Manager Frank Ochieng, Nandi County Director of Education Zachary Mutwiri among others.

Ultimately, it was Nancy Jelagat and Emmanuel Bor who had the last laugh in the 10k race after cutting the tape ahead of the other competitors to be crowned champions.
Their joy of winning the race was sweetened by the medals and instant cash prizes where they pocketed Ksh. 80,000 each with the runners up bagging Ksh 60, 000.
The bronze medalists walked home with Ksh 50,000 while the fourth and fifth place finishers got Ksh 40,000 and 30,000 respectively.
Sixth place finishers were gifted Ksh 20 000 with athletes who finished seventh and eighth places taking home Ksh 10, 000 and 7,500 respectively.
Ninth and tenth placed runners won Ksh 7,000 and 6,500 respectively.

In line with the theme of the event which sought to raise awareness and boost efforts aimed at conserving water catchment areas, the top ten athletes were given trees by the Kenya Forest Services officers.
The event was curtain raised by a tree planting exercise on Saturday at the Kapsabet Boys' and Girls' High Schools respectively.
