The Norwegian athlete makes a rare, last-gasp jump to clinch a victory in the fastest race of the season so far
Timothy Cheruiyot has clocked his personal best time of the season in the 1,500 metres race on Thursday night, but it still wasn't enough for the win in the Oslo Diamond League as Jakob Ingebrigtsen raced to victory thanks to a bizarre last-gasp jump in the finish line.
The 23-year-old ran down the Kenyan athlete to win in 3:29.74 seconds. Cheruiyot clocked 3:29.77, while Azeddine Habz crossed in 3:28.90.

The 28-year-old Kenyan improved his season-best by almost three seconds. His fastest race before Oslo was in Doha on May 10, when he clocked 3:32.67. His personal record dates back to 2021 and the race in Monaco, with a time of 3:28.28.
After being beaten over a mile last week by world 1500m champion Josh Kerr, Ingebrigtsen celebrated ecstatically in front of a home crowd. This victory will definitely set the tone for the Paris Olympics, which are less than two months away.
