The 29-yeaar-old had finished third in his season-opening race last week

Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala proved his dominance once again as he cruised to victory at the second ASA Grand Prix held on Wednesday, 19 March, at Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.

Omanyala, who had finished third in the first Grand Prix with a time of 10.22s, bounced back in style, clocking 10.08s to comfortably claim the top spot.

Despite Tsebo Matsoso breathing down his neck in a closely contested finish, Omanyala maintained his composure to cross the line first.

Matsoso, representing the University of Johannesburg, finished second in 10.12s, just behind Omanyala.

Rounding off the podium was home athlete Bradley Nkoana from North West University, who secured third place with a time of 10.16s.

Meanwhile, Mark Odhiambo narrowly missed out on a podium spot, finishing fourth in 10.30s.

This was an improvement from his previous 10.39s finish at the first Grand Prix.

The race also featured Sinesipho Dambile (Curro, South Africa), who tied with Odhiambo at 10.30s, while Gary Noa Jerrel Bibi from Mauritius finished sixth in 10.45s.
