Korir's 1:42.05 Personal Best (PB) sets him as the favourite with home runner Pierre-Ambroise Bosse the second fastest athlete on paper with a 1:42.52 PB which he set in 2014 and stands as the French record.
The 26-year-old Olympic champion will, however, have his work cut out as he makes his debut against a field that has that has three runners who have dipped under 1:45 including Kipruto's 1:44.58.
Kipruto, a former world indoor tour champion, is fresh from winning his 800m race at the Ostrava Golden Spike continental meeting held on 31 May where he clocked a SB in his season-opening race.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Ngeny will be hoping to replicate his 1:43.84 PB which he set which he set during last year's Athletics Kenya Olympics pre-trials at Nyayo Stadium in May. He opened his outdoor season with a 1:47.51 at the national championship.
In the men's 1500m, two Kenyans are in action. Former World Youth 1500m champion Kumari Taki heads to the race as the second fastest athlete this year on the list with 3:36.73 behind Habz Azzedine's 3:36.62.
Commonwealth Games 10000m bronze medalist Ronald Kwemoi will open his season as he builds up for the eagerly awaited World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
In men's 5000m, World Under-20 champion Benson Kiplagat leads other Kenyans Isaac Ndiema, Felix Kiptarus, Cornelius Kemboi and Boniface Kibiwott in chasing the title.
In the women's races, Mary Moraa faces a formidable field in 800m that has six sub 2.00 runners with three, including Moraa, having dipped under two minutes this season. Judith Kiyeng is in action in the women's 1500m.
