Lyles announced the venture with palpable excitement that will offer a unique insight into the sport through the voice of former athletes

Olympic gold medalists Noah Lyles, Grant Holloway, and Rai Benjamin have teamed up to launch Beyond The Records Podcast, promising an unfiltered dive into the lives of elite athletes.

Set to debut on Thursday 12 December the podcast is being billed as a first-of-its-kind collaboration among Olympic champions, offering a mix of behind-the-scenes stories and broader topics that transcend athletics.

Lyles announced the venture with palpable excitement that will offer a unique insight into the sport through the voice of former athletes.

“What's up, everybody. You’ve seen us on the track, and now it’s time to see us off the track. From rivalries on the track to what really went down in the village, we’re bringing you everything you didn’t see on TV — and yeah, we are naming names.

Mark your calendars. On December 12th, we’re bringing the heat," he posted.

The podcast’s Instagram account added to the hype, teasing Episode One which promises juicy revelations, including untold stories from the Paris Olympics and hints about future guests.

While Beyond The Records Podcast will highlight track and field, it aims to expand its audience by exploring diverse topics.

For Lyles, this initiative aligns with his long-standing advocacy for making track and field more engaging and relevant, particularly during the sport’s quieter months.

“Track and field has struggled with popularity compared to leagues like the NBA and NFL,” Lyles remarked.

He has called for a more fan-focused approach, emphasizing friendship among athletes and the importance of building their personal brands.

“You look at our sport, and we don’t even hang out with the athletes in our own sport. The big rock stars [of track and field] from our past and present don’t even hang out together.

How can we get to this higher level that we all talk about if we don’t even show respect for one another?” he posed.

Lyles believes platforms like this podcast, along with appearances at major events and shows, can help bridge the gap between athletes and fans. This, in turn, could elevate the sport's visibility and attract a new generation of supporters.

The podcast is a bold step in a sport that has often struggled to maintain year-round relevance. Their combined star power and engaging personalities could redefine how track and field athletes connect with their fans.
