
Mozzart Bet boosts Chemususu dam half marathon to a tune of Ksh 2.5 M

Themed 'Run to Conserve', this year's Chemususu Dam Half Marathon has received a major boost as title sponsor Mozzart Bet sponsored the event to a tune of Ksh 2.5 million, up from Ksh 2 million last edition.
The event, in it's ninth edition, has been scheduled for 11 November at the Chemususu Primary School with the starting line set at Benonin, Eldama Ravine in Baringo County.
As registration opens on 19 October, organisers have confirmed that last edition's winners Daisy Cherotich and Emanuel Kemboi have confirmed their participation as the duo look to defend their title.
"Mozzart Bet Kenya has been committed in supporting the sporting community in Kenya. We are proud sponsors of our National Volleyball team, Malkia Strikers, the Mozzart Bet FKF Cup and Continental debutants Kakamega Homeboyz FC.
For the past 3 years, we have been a part of the 10km Re-discover Nandi Race in Kapsabet, the race that has seen discovery of new talent and planting of more than 30,000 Trees to conserve the environment.
In this occasion, Mozzart is proud to be the Title Sponsor of the 21km Mozzart Bet Chemususu Dam Half Marathon for the second year running.
For this edition we have committed Ksh 2.5 Million to ensure a succesful event. Apart from Sports, The mission of this race is to Conserve the Chemususu Eco System by planting Trees, and other activities which we are always glad to be associated with," Saša Krneta, Mozzart Bet Kenya, Country Manager said.
Race Director Matthew Birir has confirmed that this year's winners will receive Ksh 250,000 in prize money. Runners-up will walk home Ksh 150,000 rich while the third-place finishers will receive Ksh 100,000. The top ten finishers will be awarded, with the last athlete in the lost getting Ksh 10,000.
Just like in the last edition, the event organisers have confirmed that funds raised from the event will facilitate a number of activities among them the establishment of a standard training facility for athletes.
"Plans are underway to construct a facility that will help athletes from this area to train but above all, one that can host regional events," offered Birir during the launch.
Additionally, part of the funds will be used to plant trees and help the elderly get NHIF covers since health is a concern owing to the cold nature of the are, an effect of the dam.
In line with giving the utmost support to the community surrounding the dam, the event will also donate sanitary pads.
