The elite Kenyan long-distance runner has a close relationship with Man Utd's minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe. And it will be useful for Erik ten Hag and his side

Manchester United minority owner, British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, plans to cooperate with Kenyan runners led by former marathon world record holder Eliud Kipchoge and his coaches to try to improve the fortunes at Old Trafford, the Daily Mail reports.

Ratcliffe and Kipchoge have a close relationship as the former, through his company Ineos, funded Kipchoge's historic feat in 2019, becoming the first man to run a marathon in under two hours.

Now, if everything goes according to the plan, Kipchoge could also visit Carrington, Manchester United training centre, to work with United's players on pace explosions and being quicker off the mark.

The partnership might mirror what worked in the background in Kipchoge's historic run, as he borrowed greatly from Ineos' other ventures in sailing and motorsports, using their expertise and scientific methods to do his sub-two-hour run.
