World Athletics has unveiled the nominees for the 2024 Women’s and Men’s Track Athlete of the Year awards, recognizing exceptional performances in track events throughout the year.
Among the nominees are Kenya’s Beatrice Chebet, Faith Kipyegon, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi, all of whom secured gold medals at the Paris Olympics.
A total of six athletes have been nominated in each category, reflecting the wide variety of track disciplines. However, only two finalists will be chosen for the prestigious award.
This year’s nominations highlight remarkable achievements at key competitions such as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the World Athletics Indoor Championships, and several high-profile one-day events around the world.
