A brand new Toyota Probox now graces his driveway, a symbol of his daughter’s success

Mr. Samuel Kipyegon, Faith Kipyegon’s father has found himself at the epicenter of a celebration, basking in the fruits of unprecedented success. This is after Rana Auto-Selection Motors awarded him with a brand new Toyota Probox, to see Faith live her long-time dream of purchasing her father a car.

Faith Kipyegon’s name is now synonymous with excellence. Kipyegon set a new record as well as the national record in 1,500m when she won the Florence Diamond League on June 2 in 3:49:11 before breaking the 5,000m world record a week later with an explosive victory in 14:05:20 in the Paris Diamond League.

According to Rana Auto-Selection Motors CEO Sultan Ali Khan Rana, gifting Kipyegon’s father was the best way to celebrate the remarkable feat, and motivate other athletes to compete at the highest possible levels. In addition, according to the CEO, the company was willing to support any sporting prowess in the region, with Eldoret being the City of Champions.

“As the leading car dealer in Kenya, when we heard that Faith Kipyegon desired a car for her father, we felt like it was our responsibility to reward her with a free car. We contacted her and we offered her Toyota Vitz as a lady but she said she will take her father a Probox because it is within the same range. Whatever we are today is because of Kenya, and Kenya is our responsibility,” Sultan offered.

The event was also graced by Uasin Gishu County Governor Jonathan Chelilim Bii who noted that the county would capitalize on Kipyegon’s success, and use her as Eldoret City’s brand for the upcoming Eldoret City Marathon and the Devolution Conference set for August in Eldoret.

“Uasin Gishu is indeed the City of Champions. We are very happy to host Faith today. We as the county of champions have positioned ourselves mentally to believe that we are the champions. Faith is a motivation to other people and especially young athletes. We applaud the coaches too for the impressive work. To the fans too, thank you,” Governor Chelilim said.

Receiving the award, a visibly emotional Kipyegon was grateful that her efforts finally paid off, noting that the success motivated her to achieve more.

“I want to wish my father a happy father’s day. We have come a very long way and enjoy everything that is coming your way. Enjoy driving yourself to every destination. Thank you Rana for this present. It is really heartwarming,” Kipyegon said.

The Stargirl also hinted on shifting gears from 1,500m to 5,000m after the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“I can say going forward, I am going to shift to 5,000m, that is after Paris 2024 Olympics. I have seen everything is capable, but let me see what I will offer in 1500m this year in Budapest, Hungary," she concluded.
