This partnership aims to empower young people through education, aligning with the foundation’s mission of fostering learning and environmental sustainability
The Eliud Kipchoge Foundation has received a significant financial boost from COROS, a global leader in performance sports wearables.
COROS announced that 5% of all proceeds from their Black Friday sales, running from Friday 29 November to Sunday 3 December, will be donated to the foundation.
This partnership aims to empower young people through education, aligning with the foundation’s mission of fostering learning and environmental sustainability.
The funds will support the construction of a second library and additional educational facilities, furthering Kipchoge’s vision of transforming communities through knowledge.
The new library, set to be built in Nandi County, will serve as a community hub offering books and resources for research and learning.
It follows the success of the first library, constructed in 2022 at Kapsisiywa Secondary School, also in Nandi County. That project, funded by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, currently features 30 internet-enabled computers and has already made a significant impact on students and the surrounding community.
In addition to the library, the funds will be used to build classrooms for youth-focused educational sessions and to enhance the learning environment in the region.
COROS customers will play a direct role in fostering these opportunities, with their purchases contributing to this transformative initiative.
"Growing up in Kenya, I know that access to books and knowledge is not always available to everyone. Libraries open doors to endless possibilities.
By building more, we extend knowledge and create lasting change,” the two-time Olympic champion said.
Founded in 2020, the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation has consistently championed education and environmental sustainability. The organization is committed to providing better access to educational resources while advocating for environmental conservation.
Kipchoge’s dedication to education stems from his belief in its transformative power.
"Education shapes a brighter future for individuals and communities,” he said.
