"From 20km I felt good and I decided to push alongside my friend Reuben until the 30km mark. At 35km I decided to increase my pace and see if I can post a good time. I am happy for this win and my time. Going forward, after taking a bit of rest, I will strategize with my coach and focus on running 2:01 in future," said Ekiru after the win.
