He is set to skip the Lausanne edition.
World 5000m silver medalist Jacob Krop is keen on securing victory in Brussels and Zurich in a bid to enhance his chances of an overall top-two finish in the Diamond League.
Krop finished sixth in Monaco on Wednesday complicating his chances of closing in on the on-form Burundian, Thierry Ndikumwenayo who tops the men’s 5000m.
However, the recently crowned Commonwealth Games bronze medalist believes that he will scoop points in the final two legs and at least finish second overall.
Last year, he finished third with Ethiopian Berihu Aregawi running away with the title.
He said, he will skip the Lausanne leg set for August 26 as he seeks to recoup energy and prepare for the final two.
Krop admitted that the sixth-place finish in Monaco was as a result of fatigue having participated in the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
“I badly want to take a brief rest as the effects of running back to back championships were there for all to see when I raced in Monaco. My plan is to win the final two legs of the Diamond League and at least finish second overall and finish the season on a positive note,” he said upon jetting back on Thursday.
Having added titles to his name, Krop, just like any other ambitious athlete has dreams for the subsequent season and the global championships.

The Africa Junior silver medalist said the experience gathered in the past two World Athletics Championships, Olympic and the Commonwealth Games will go a long way in boosting his bid to strike gold in Budapest and Paris.
“I now have the experience to race in a championship which I lacked before. My aim is to win gold in the next editions of the World Championships and the Olympics. One of the reasons as to why Kenyan athletes have been performing dismally in this race is lack of teamwork and habouring the mentality that victory is a reserve of Ethiopian or Ugandan athletes," he said.
